So is Vallee a Satanist? Jason, This is, to put it mildly, an unwarranted and irresponsible accusation, I'm shocked to see it here. LaVey, from all accounts a great character and an urbane, sophisticated man, knew a great many people. My late friend the sociologist of science Marcello Truzzi considered him a good friend. (No, Marcello was not a Satanist. As an agnostic, he did not even accept the existence of the devil.) Moreover, LaVey's variety of Satanism focused on a material view of life and an enjoyment of its pleasures It was not about the sort of lurid nonsense of cheezy horror movies and paperback thrillers.
