Again, Joe McG's inability to grasp the concepts of nuance and
complexity is on embarrassing display. I would challenge him to
cite anything I've written - and I have published extensively -
that expresses the view attributed to me in that last line,
except that I am well aware he wouldn't take me up on it because
even he senses he wouldn't be able to support his statement. You
really need to reign in that wishful thinking, Joe.

For an actual discussion of my view on the matter of witness
testimony, see, e.g., pp. 321-24 of my book Unexplained! 3rd
ed., 2012. For a skeptical treatment of Michael Persinger's
claims (and, in passing, Susan Blackmore's), see Chris
Rutkowski's illuminating - sorry for the pun; I couldn't help
myself - essay Earthlights And Tectonic Strain Theory, in my UFO
Encyclopedia, 2nd ed., 1998, pp.350-57.
