Most probably we are just at the >beginning!" One thing is for certain, Ray. We are only at the very beginning of being able to detect what is actually out there. The data is skinny and very smart people are doing sterling work on unravelling its initial implications, but it is worth keeping in mind that the evidence for distance planets is indirect - inferences drawn from observations of phenomena other than the planets themselves. One wonders, for example, how the earth/moon system might look from these sort of distances. Perhaps some of the 'megaplanets' that we are starting to see will turn out to be similar or more complex systems. Do any listers have a feel for whether current observations are sufficiently finely tuned to support this type of distinction? Or, to be more precise, has the data analysis even asked the question?
