David Sereda's Diminished Gravity Demo?

Subject: David Sereda's Diminished Gravity Demo?

A young man, David Sereda, claims that if two strong magnets
are bolted together in a position where they repel, this
assembly can be dropped from a moderate height, and carefully
timed, and the assembly will take measurably longer to reach the
ground than other objects.

This was at a 2010 UFO symposium and suggests that gravity's
effect on this assembly was reduced.

Has anyone heard that claim and is it documented somewhere
independently?

David's specific description spoke about two _toroidal_ magnets,
bolted, apparently (with large washers) through the 'donut'
holes.

I don't have any experience with toroidal magnets. One would
think that if the flux is confined to a circular path inside the
toroidal core material, there really isn't a discrete 'north' or
'south' pole on the external surface.

Perhaps repulsion or attraction would take place according to
whether the two toroids have the flux 'circulating' in the same
direction, versus 'circulating' in the opposite direction?

Does anyone have a pair of toroidal magnets to try this out
with?
