Subject: "Thought" Definition

Hello List,

Today was idly listening to 'The Museum of Curiosity' - a
somewhat jokey BBC R4 radio program

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03f92qc

and a visiting contributor Professor Kevin Warwick (cybernetics:
University of Reading - the pillock who had a chip implanted in
his arm some years ago).

He seems a strong AI believer and talked about growing brain
neurones on an electrode or assembly of electrodes which in turn
are connected to a robot body equipped with sense "organs" -
i.e. simulating sight, touch, hearing and other attributes. He
claimed that when the robot 'body' sends such info to the
neuronic 'brain', which then responds by apparently ordering
some movement or other reaction by the 'body' - then that
fulfils the definition of conscious "thinking", and "reacting"
like a human.

I'm not so sure.

Cheers
