From: Ray Dickenson <r.dickenson.nul> Date: Mon, 28 Oct 2013 19:59:05 -0000 Archived: Tue, 29 Oct 2013 06:41:27 -0400 Subject: "Thought" Definition Hello List, Today was idly listening to 'The Museum of Curiosity' - a somewhat jokey BBC R4 radio program http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03f92qc and a visiting contributor Professor Kevin Warwick (cybernetics: University of Reading - the pillock who had a chip implanted in his arm some years ago). He seems a strong AI believer and talked about growing brain neurones on an electrode or assembly of electrodes which in turn are connected to a robot body equipped with sense "organs" - i.e. simulating sight, touch, hearing and other attributes. He claimed that when the robot 'body' sends such info to the neuronic 'brain', which then responds by apparently ordering some movement or other reaction by the 'body' - then that fulfils the definition of conscious "thinking", and "reacting" like a human.
